A manipulation scheme where a group coordinates to buy a low-liquidity asset, driving up the price, then sells their holdings to later buyers at inflated prices. The price collapses once the orchestrators exit. It is illegal in traditional markets and ethically identical in crypto, though enforcement is sparse.
The Oracle speaks
The Magician reversed uses the same tools as the upright card, but the intention is inverted. The seeker who finds themselves in a pump-and-dump was not trading. They were being traded. The trick only works because the audience wants to believe the magic is real.
