Capitulation
Plain reading
The act of selling a position in complete surrender, usually at or near the lowest point of a decline. Capitulation is driven by emotional exhaustion rather than analysis and typically marks the moment a holder gives up all hope of recovery. Ironically, mass capitulation events often signal a market bottom.
The Oracle speaks
The Death card is not the end the seeker fears. It is the transformation the seeker refuses until there is no alternative. Capitulation is the moment the old position dies so something else can begin. Whether the seeker recognizes the rebirth or only mourns the loss is entirely up to them.
